The Summer Opening of the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace
Each summer during August and September the State Rooms at
Buckingham Palace open to the public for a period of eight weeks. As part
of the tour, visitors also enjoy a special exhibition in one of the State
Rooms. an exhibition of The Queen’s Year has been chosen to mark the
summer opening of Buckingham Palace this year.
The summer opening of the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace,
including The Queen’s Year exhibition, is from July 27 to October 1,

Registration opens for Festival of British Archaeology 2010
This the Festival of British Archaeology is celebrating 20
years of inspiring events, which have been encouraging people
all around the UK to take an active interest in archaeology and
the historic environment around them. 2010 will see our biggest
celebration of archaeology yet and we want you to be involved!
There are plenty of opportunities for you to take part in the
Festival of British Archaeology. Events are held at a huge
variety of venues, with a vast array of formats and themes.
Holding events during this special fortnight presents an
excellent opportunity for you to promote your work, engage with
your local communities and help everyone to engage with
archaeology and the wider historic environment.
The Festival is co-ordinated by the Council for British
Archaeology and is entirely reliant on the participation and
support of heritage groups, societies and organisations around
the UK. It runs for a fortnight from Saturday 17 July to Sunday
1 August.

A Garden Party to Make a Difference
The Prince of Wales is joining forces this Summer with
musicians, comedians, environmental experts and some of Britain's best known
companies to create a unique festival in the heart of London. The Prince
is opening up his own gardens at Clarence House, together with his neighbours'
gardens at Lancaster House and Marlborough House this September.
'A Garden Party To Make A Difference', a rare opportunity to visit these
historic gardens, will last 12 days, from 8 to the 19 September 2010, from 10am
to 6pm daily. There will be a timed entry at hourly intervals with final
admission at 4pm. Tickets are on-sale from
Ticketmaster or by calling 0844 248 5052.
'A Garden Party To Make A Difference' is an imaginative part of The Prince of
Wales's 'Start' initiative launched in February. The event aims to give
people of all ages a fun day out while at the same time, via the exhibits,
demonstrating the small steps that can, and are, being taken by all of us,
interested in building a more sustainable future

Biodiversity is the variety of life on Earth, essential for sustaining the
natural living systems that provide us with food, fuel, health, wealth, and
other vital services.

The International Shipwreck Conference is run by wreck
enthusiasts for enthusiasts, the aim is to provide a meeting place for divers,
explorers, archaeologists and salvors as well as government and commercial
organisations.The organisers are all divers with interests in maritime
archaeology and history and the varied nature of the speakers reflects this, a
conference can include a world renowned archaeologist alongside a treasure
hunter, followed by a diver working on a local project
